What is the Peshawar blast?
The suicide bomb blast last Monday that took place in the mosque situated at Peshawar had taken the lives of more than 100 people and has left around 170 people injured. More than 400 people were present in the mosque at the time of prayer. After the blast, many parts of the mosque collapsed which further worsened the toll.
The mosque is located in a highly fortified area that also houses the headquarters of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police force and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) offices.
What surprised the investigation agencies was the way the suicide bomber managed to dodge past all security layers to reach the mosque and cause such a fatal attack.
The investigation agency’s prime focus of investigation in the case was to find out if there was any hand of an insider in the blast or not.
Findings of the police inquiry
Police had earlier got a severed head which they were suspecting to be of the sucide bomber , which after investigation they have managed to confirm the head belonged to the sucide bomber .
According to the investigation agencies the sucide bomber was wearing a police uniform and helmet due to which the security present over the mosque don’t check the sucide bomber as a result he managed to reach the inside of the mosque and caused such a brutal destruction.
As per an interview in the dawn police chief Ansari had said “He [suicide bomber] entered the main gate on a motorcycle, came inside, talked to a constable and asked him where the mosque was. This means that the attacker was not aware of the area. He was given a target and there is an entire network behind him. He was not a lone ranger,”
Has any terror organization taken responsibility?
Till now no terror outfit has taken the responsibility for the blast and security agencies are still investigating to find more details about it.
It is the most fatal blast that has happened in Pakistan over a period of time.

While speaking on the incident Pakistan’s defense minister recently said that no one is killed even in India while offering prayers in the temple.
Ex Pm Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Sharif in her statement blamed the former ISI chief Faiz Hamid. She said that Hamid had opened doors for the Taliban into the country and cited examples of how her father Nawaz Sharif has reduced terrorism in the country and how the poor policies of Imran Khan worsened the situation in Pakistan.
Pakistan Army general General Munir while addressing a conference of all security forces termed the attack as cowardly and immoral. On the occasion, he also directed all forces to take strong action against terrorism in the country.
Counter View
The terrorist attack in Pakistan was the result of Pakistan’s year-old practice of giving patronage to terror organizations.
Pakistan’s action against terrorism has always been under question. This is not the only terror attack before the Peshawar blast there has been numerous attack in Pakistan but the weak policies of Pakistan have encouraged the terror groups to operate freely in the country.
So far 17 suspects have been held by the local Administration but the investigation is yet to conclude.
Cops of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been demanding strong action against the terror forces otherwise they said they will quit in mass protest against the terror attack.
It will be very much closely tracked by the global forces how Pakistan this time responds to terrorism.
