A new report titled “Gross Domestic Climate Risk” was released this Monday which reveals that nine states of India including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
The report, which was released via Australia-based Cross Dependency Initiative or XDI, is a part of the climate risk group of companies estimating the cost of climate change. The report assessed over 2600 states and provinces around the world in 2050 reveals that 80% of the top 50 at risk states and provinces of 2050 would be in China, the US and India.
India is supposedly the second highest number of states among the top 50 including 36th Tamil Nadu, 38th Maharashtra, 48th Gujarat, 50th Punjab, 25th Uttar Pradesh, 52nd Kerala, 22nd Bihar and 28th Assam in the list.
China and the USA, The other two most vulnerable countries are Florida, California and Texas that are the highest ranking US states in China Jiangsu and Shandong, the country’s two top-most economies are at the top of the global ranking following which the list covers half of the provinces from China.
Since the global manufacturing of different substances increased and shifted to Asia, there has been a major infrastructure investment in various regions of China which sources say are susceptible to fall under climatic threats.

Meanwhile, Florida, California and Texas along with New York have concentrated on the list with Florida at 10th, California at 19, Texas at 20 and New York at 46.

Further to the details of the list as XDI has revealed, the UK also is most likely to be hit by a rise in extreme temperatures, floods, forest fires, and a Rise in sea level. Greater London, Lincolnshire, Wales, Yorkshire, Somerset ranked third, fourth and fifth with greater London, and Lincolnshire, to be most likely affected a lot.
Since it is predicted that the property damage will be doubled by 2050 because of the coastal inundation threat, greater London is thus a risk zone for the UK. Addition to this, the Thames barrier has been observed with the risks concerning its eventual termination in working.
Risks for half of all Scottish countries are expected to have doubled by 2050. This is only a quarter of England’s countries to be experiencing such severe damage.
