Backstreet Boys, well known for their iconic songs such as “I want it that way”, “As Long As You Love Me” and “Shape Of My Heart”, announced on Wednesday that they will be performing in India after 13 years on the DNA World Tour in May. The well known boy band that has won the hearts of billions across the world last performed in India in 2010.
‘The Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour’ is said to be a two-city tour, which will take place at Mumbai’s Jio World Gardens and in New Delhi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on May 4 and 5, respectively.
The Backstreet Boys band came into being in 1993 with AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson alongwith Nick Carter and Brian Littrell. They rose into fame with their mesmerizing vocal harmony and breathtaking dance moves.
The Backstreet Boys released their tenth studio album, DNA at the start of 2019 from which the song Don’t Go Breaking My Heart became their first hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 10 years. The song made them the first boy band to top the U.S. album charts in three different decades and received a nomination for the Pop Duo/ Group Performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The band released their first christmas album “A very Backstreet Christmas” last year which contains 13 tracks three of which are originals while the rest are covers of Christmas classics.
India’s leading entertainment destination BookMyShow is bringing the world-renowned band Backstreet Boys to the country this time with Live Nation. The Backstreet Boys took to Instagram on Wednesday to share details of the entire lineup of the next phase of their upcoming DNA World Tour. Before coming to India the Backstreet Boys will be performing in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Hong Kong, Reykjavik and Cairo. After India, they will move towards Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Jeddah, Tel Aviv, Cape Town and Pretoria.

It should be noted that the event can only be attended by those people who are double-vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination reports might be required for entry and other protocols such as avoiding outside food and mandatory use of masks must be followed. The cost of tickets is not yet revealed but the pre-register option might be helpful for those who wish to register early, as they might avail tickets at a cheaper rate. According to the official website of backstreet boys one can also get first access to meet & greets and concert tickets with the backstreet army digital membership.
BookMyShow along with Live Nation is bringing the world-renowned band to the country this time. In a press statement, BookMyShow said registrations for the much-awaited concert are live exclusively on their platform. This year, Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour will begin on May 1 in Egypt, followed by India, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel and end on May 19 in South Africa. The world tour comes on the back of the boy-band’s tenth studio album, DNA.
