Riley Keough on carrying her grandfather's legacy

The 33-year-old actress, Riley Keough has denied the statement which said that she is continuing her grandfather’s legacy. Riley is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley who is a renowned American singer. Riley is on her grandfather’s track but on her own terms.

Riley is busy promoting her upcoming prime video series “Daisy Jones & The Six”. In the series, she plays the titular singer. While discussing her new series she said, she didn’t put extra ‘pressure’ on herself since her family follows the same line.

Riley was asked to share her opinion on pursuing her family’s music legacy. On this she said, she is not sure if she should call it continuing her grandfather’s legacy as it is her own sort of thing. It’s a fun experience for her and she does not have to put any extra pressure on it.

Further, she added, “I’m not a musician — or I am now I guess.” She has always been inclined to films her whole life, hence it was overwhelming to have a connection with music in that way. Moreover, she claimed that her world has always been surrounded by music since she belongs to a family of musicians. Riley admitted that regardless of being around musicians all her life, she had to work hard to find her potential.

Speaking of herself and Daisy Jones & The Six co-star, Sam Claflin, Riley said, its surreal to acknowledge that there was a time when we didn’t know how to play anything on guitar or sing. But now our record is coming out, and it’s crazy to believe that. She added it’s like practicing for a band as we had months of jamming sessions, and we rehearsed almost for a year.

She continued by saying, we both were nervous when we met our singing coach together. We both auditioned for it individually and then I realized we both were so bad at this. To this Sam added, I sighed in relief when I realized that I m not alone in this, in fact, we are on the same page here.

Daisy Jones & The Six is an upcoming television series that will be premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, March 3, 2023. The series is an adaptation of the bestselling book of the same name, Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The series is presented in a documentary style and it consists of 10 episodes.

The series features Riley Keough as Daisy Jones, Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, and Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne. Two singles “Regret Me” and “Look At Us Now” from the series have been released. And one more album ‘Aurora’ is set to be released on 3rd March 2023 on Atlantic Records. The album is performed by the cast of the series itself. It is produced and composed by Blake Mills.
