The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning said, it is very important to focus on the challenges we face in the economy and development. G20 plays the biggest role in driving global economic development. China is ready to work with all parties and also ensures that the Foreign Minister will send a positive impact on organizing relations, food and energy security, and development cooperation.

Shilpak Ambule, The Joint Secretary (East Asia) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) held a meeting in Beijing with Chinese border officials and Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, Hua Chunying. These talks were held in person in July 2019 and it was the 26th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India – China border affairs in Beijing. The tie-up arranged between neighbour countries is creating tension due to the mobilisation of China’s troops and multiple transgressions over the Line of Actual Control ( LAC) started in April 2020 and bilateral exchange has also been obstructed.
According to last week’s report, both countries discussed proposals for removing two remaining friction areas along with LAC which will create conditions to “restore normalcy” in relations.
The G20 was created to facilitate international economic cooperation and decision-making among its members. The group represents around 80% of the world’s economic output, two-thirds of the global population, and 75% of international trade. Its objectives include promoting international financial stability, addressing global economic challenges, and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
The G20 meets annually at the Leaders’ Summit, where heads of state or government from each member country gather to discuss and coordinate their economic policies. The group also holds ministerial meetings and engages in ongoing discussions through working groups and task forces. Additionally, the G20 conducts outreach to other countries and organizations, including developing nations and regional organizations, to promote global economic cooperation.
China’s relations with India after 2020
The relationship between China and India has been strained in recent years, and tensions have escalated in 2020 due to a border dispute in the Himalayan region of Ladakh. The clash between the two countries’ troops resulted in the deaths of several soldiers on both sides and led to a military standoff that lasted for months.
Since then, there have been efforts to improve the relationship between the two countries. In February 2021, both sides agreed to disengage their troops from the disputed border area, and there have been several high-level talks between the two countries to ease tensions.
However, there are still several issues that continue to strain the relationship between China and India. These include China’s close ties with Pakistan, India’s historical rival, as well as China’s increasing economic and military influence in South Asia.
Overall, it is difficult to predict the future of China-India relations. While there have been efforts to improve the relationship, there are still several underlying issues that need to be addressed. The relationship between these two countries is complex and multifaceted, and it will require sustained effort and diplomacy from both sides to improve and maintain a stable relationship.
