Nikki Haley, a U.S. presidential candidate has stated that she will stop aid to Pakistan and additional countries if she is elected.

Her explanation is that a country that is powerful does not have the need to be anyone’s ATM. According to her, that is a trait of a weak country. She went on to say that the money given to Iraq and Zimbabwe is used to form negative impacts back on the U.S.
She also attacked China by stating that it is absurd they pay China for issues on environment and that China would notice if they were a friend. She promised to completely cut money flow to countries that show aversion towards the U.S.
Aid from U.S. –

With the U.S being a super power and Pakistan a developing country, Pakistan has been receiving aid from U.S. for a long time now. The Pakistan Treasury received $8.67 billion to improve military and economic aid between the years 2002 and 2011. Also, in 2006 Pakistan received $9 million to make the election process more advanced by making it computerized. Entirely, since Pakistan’s independence in 1948, the USA has assigned $78.3 billion to them until 2016.
China is responsible for being one of the top emitters of greenhouse gases and produces a lot of toxic waste. Not only are they putting the Chinese citizens in danger but this could also have dangerous consequences on the rest of the world. Thus, USA provides help to China to help combat the greenhouse gas emission which will bring down the pollution levels.
Who is Nikki Haley?
Nikki Haley is an American public servant with Indian roots as her parents are Indian immigrants. She is not only known for her stint as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in the years 2017-2018, but also for her role as a governor of South Carolina from 2011-2018.

Her political career began in 2004 when she secured a seat in the State House of Representatives and she was subsequently reelected in 2008.
In 2011, she became the first woman to hold the position of a governor in South Carolina. It was also the first time for a person from an ethnic minority. During her time as a governor, there was a constant growth in the economic rates and the unemployment rate fell as well which led her to be re-appointed.
From 2017-2018, under Trump’s administration she served as the U.S. ambassador to the United States. She is known to be vocal of her thoughts and opinions and many a times her views have been contradictory to that of the ruling government.
As of 2023, she is a U.S. Presidential candidate running for the 2024 elections from the Republican party making her the first Republican to contest against Donald Trump.
