On Thursday, the British Defense ministry informed about seizing Iranian missiles likely to be headed to Yemen. The British royal navy conducted the raid on 24th February after some suspicion of American aircraft detected a small boat.
The Royal Navy seized anti-tank missiles and fins for a ballistic missile. A raid was conducted on a small boat heading to Yemen with Iranian missiles. The boat was trying to re-enter the Iranian water. The British navy stopped the boat while re-entering. It is suspected that the boat was headed to supply weapons to Yemen.
The French and USA forces have already increased their presence in the region.
British Secretary response
In a statement, British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace informed that the Royal navy is a committee to uphold international law in the gulf region. the permanent presence of the British navy will tackle and prevent all the activities which can threaten the peace and security of the world.
The Iranian government has increased its malign activities in the maritime region.
Suspected weapons in the boat
The British Navy officer found Russian 9M133 Kornet anti-tank guided missiles, U.S. Navy’s Mideast-based 5th Fleet, medium-range ballistic missiles.
These Russian-guided missiles are also known as Dehlavieh in Iran.
Donald Trump opted out of the Iranian Nuclear deal
A nuclear deal was signed in 2015 during the presidency of Barack Obama to prevent Iran from creating atomic and nuclear bombs. The JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) deal slowed down the Iran nuclear programme.

The president of the USA Joe Biden has tried to re-engage with Iran on the Nuclear deal. Iran has particularly not been interested in talks. They have ignored Biden’s administration engagement talks.
Western forces increased pressure on Iran
The western forces have been fearful about Iran’s nuclear weapons. Iran’s nuclear weapons can create more instability with the ongoing Ukrainian conflict.
The USA has alerted the world about the process of Iran’s nuclear weapons. Colin Kahl has stated that it would take a few days for Iran to create nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for peace also alerted about the enrichment of Uranium. In 2015, the uranium level was 60%. Uranium is an essential element found in nuclear weapons. It is a naturally occurring element.
Iran agreed not to enrich uranium by more than 3.67% under the nuclear deal. Since 2018 re-enforcement of sanctions on Iran. They didn’t sit quietly. Iran accelerated the process of atomic weapons.
Iran increased their uranium enrichment process by 20% in 2018. Recently, The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned that uranium enrichment has increased up to 83%.
Doubts are raised again on Iran’s involvement with Rebels in Yemen
The Houthi rebels have created havoc in the region. they have attacked the UAE multiple times. these rebel activities have led to instability and fear in the region.
Iran has often denied supplying weapons or other missiles to Yemen. But, this seizure by the British navy has refuelled the doubts about the secret activities of Iran with Houthi rebels.
The United Nation resolutions passed the resolution the ban on arms transfer to Yemen because of the Houthi rebels.
