Paris Saint-Germain currently holds a transitory 11-point lead in the Ligue 1 points table after securing a 4-2 victory at home against FC Nantes in Parc des Princes. As an outcome of this victory, Kylian Mbappe has taken the title of the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
On Saturday, Mbappe broke the record formerly held by Edinson Cavani for most goals scored by a player for Paris Saint-Germain across all competitions when he scored his 201st goal for PSG. The World Cup’s top scorer, Mbappe, set a new record while playing with the captain’s armband after Marquinhos was forced to leave the game with an injury.

Ever since, Kylian Mbappe joined PSG in 2017, the club has won four consecutive titles in Ligue 1 and he himself has won four consecutive scoring titles. On Saturday, the club honored the 24-year-old’s historic performance with an on-field trophy presentation ahead of the game.
Match Report :
Messi opened the scoring for PSG in the 12th minute with a left-footed volley from Fabian Ruiz’s cross. PSG went up 2-0 five minutes later, when Alban Lafont deflected Nuno Mendes’ shot right into the path of Hadjam, who blasted the ball into his own net under pressure from Nordi Mukiele.

Nevertheless, Blas whiffed a fantastic effort past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 31st minute to cut the score in half, and Ganago deflected a corner past the keeper, seven minutes later to equalise. Danilo scored 15 minutes into the second half after getting a ball from Mbappe, and the French forward subsequently set the target with a left-footed drive from the centre of the box.

Ludovic Blas scored in the 31st minute with a cross-come-shot from the left that surprised Gianluigi Donnarumma, the home goalkeeper. Ignatius Ganago beat Marquinhos to the near post and headed home a corner kick seven minutes before halftime to level the score for the visitors.

In the tail end of the first half, Paris regained the lead owing to a header from Danilo Pereira that was assisted by Mbappé’s cross. It appeared that Mbappé’s hopes of becoming the team’s all-time scoring leader had been dashed. Then, just as the game was about to end, he spun around with his back to the net, gathered a cross from Timothée Pembélé, and scored the match goal for Paris Saint-Germain.
