Amid criticism from the UN refugee organisation and legal experts, Rishi sunak on Wednesday introduced a bill in the house of commons to deal with the illegal immigration crisis faced by the country.

Overview of Rishi Sunak’s Proposed Changes to Immigration Law
The bill has been introduced to stop smugglers and traffickers from taking advantage of prospective immigrants.
- In a tweet, Rishi sunk wrote “we are introducing new laws that mean if you come to the UK illegally, you will be banned from re-entering our country” “This is how we will break the business model of the smugglers, this is how we will control our borders”. Speaking about the migrants who make arduous journeys to the UK via boat .They are not vulnerable. They travel through various safe European channels and are paying people thousands of pounds to get there. Those who come illegally to the UK would be detained and then deported to their country or any other safe third country such as Rwanda with which the UK has an agreement. The due legal process would be followed to deal with the problem.
Illegal immigrants coming through boat would be detained for 28 days before they are deported. Special privileges have been made for children, physically handicapped. Illegal immigrants would be stopped from re-entering the UK and barred from applying for UK citizenship.
It would be applied from a date in the past, thus affecting those who have already arrived in the UK.
The British Parliament would also pass a bill dealing with the number of immigrants that can annually come to the UK.

Those illegal immigrants who are 18 would be kept in the UK until adulthood. Then would be moved to a safe third country.
Those illegally entered would be stopped from getting access to the UK’s slavery system which upholds and ensures the rights of the people.
There would be a cap on the number of refugees entering via safe routes…Last year, around 45000 immigrants arrived on the shores of Southeast England and this has been increasing 45% since 2018.
It was unfair to those who went to England legally.
The home secretary has said that The United Kingdom must always support the world’s most vulnerable. Since 2015 the country had given sanctuary to nearly half a million people through family resettlement and global safe and legal routes. These included 15000 people of Hong Long who fleed from autocracy, 160000 Ukrainians who fleed Putin’s war, 25000 Afghan people fleeing from Taliban. Crucially, these were decisions supported by the British people precisely because they were decisions made by the British people, through their elected representatives – not by the people smugglers and other criminals breaking into Britain daily. The asylum system now costs the British taxpayer £3 billion a year.
The Bill has been criticised by the opposition and the right saying it was unworkable and would not sustain in the long run.
The Pm last year had made it his election manifesto to introduce a law about the migration crisis and it was time the UK does something big in this field.
The United Nations agency has said,it was concerned about the bill and the rights of the refugees. It would be interesting to see if the bill gets passed. It will be more interesting to check the effect of the same and whether the UK uses it legitimately or not.
