Two most anticipated films of the year 2023 are releasing at the end of this month. The films are Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Both the films are set to premiere head-to-head on the 21st of July making it one of the most exciting face-offs in recent times.
The Warner Bro’s Barbie could open on $80 million however Warner Bro’s are being cautious suggesting that it will open at $60 million. On the other hand, Universal picture’s Oppenheimer is said to debut at only $40 million domestically. This would mark the Christopher Nolan’s lowest film debut excluding Tenet which was opened amid covid for $20 million.
And along with these, Paramount is releasing Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning on the 12th of July and this release will also be a grand event even though Barbie and Oppenheimer are releasing later the same month. It would be exciting to see which debut comes first this month as all three of the films carry almost similar chances.
