Kevin Costner made to the headlines, a couple of days back, when he surprised his fans with announcement of divorce with his wife Christine Baumgartner, ending his marriage of 18 years.
Now, the actor has made his first ever appearance ever since the news of his split hit the news, at a golf range on Tuesday. The 68-year-old was snapped at a golf range in St. George, Utah, hitting golf balls. He has been in the state for the shooting of his upcoming film Horizon, which marks his first directorial project in 20 years, since his last directorial Open Range, which was released in 2003.
For the outing, Kevin wore white dress shirt, tan khakhi pants, and sported white sneakers.
Despite, everything that is going on in his life – his iconic Yellowstone series getting cancelled and his divorce with wife – the actor seemed to be in pretty good mood while hitting the golf balls.
The reports have stated that it was Christine who filed for the divorce after 18 years of marriage. The couple also has three children together. It has also been revealed that the split is due to the ‘irreconcilable differences’ and the 49-year-old wife has demanded joint custody for their three kids – Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12. Kevin filed his response, on Tuesday, to divorce and he is also seeking joint custody for their children.
The couple started dating in 2000, and tied the knot four years later, in 2004, at Costner’s Aspen, Colorado. They welcomed their first child, son Cayden in 2007, followed by another son named Hayes in 2009 and their daughter Grace the following year.
A statement was issued by Kevin’s representative which read that the circumstances have gone beyond the control of the actor which forces him to “participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” The statement also requested their fans to maintain their privacy as they [family] go through these difficult time.
Meanwhile, Christine was earlier spotted, on Sunday, in Montecito, buying balloons for son Cayden’s 16th birthday, is said to be not filing for spousal support. For her Sunday outing, she was accompanied by her daughter, Grace, and were snapped as they made their way to the parking lot holding bouquets of balloons. She looked chic in her patterned blouse tucked into a pair of cropped white jeans. She completed her look with a pair white canvas shoes and clear-frame sunglasses.
It has come to our learning that Kevin’s series Yellowstone has been one of the reason for creating problems in his marriage life. It was reported by Radar Online, a few months back, that Christine has given her husband an ultimatum to either quit the series or ‘ride into the sunset’. An insider had revealed that Christine’s patience was being put at test and she just wants her husband to hang his cowboy hat. The outlet had quoted a friend, who stated that despite the show [Yellowstone] was a mega-hit and producers are willing for it to continue forever, “it’s really knocked a hole in their family life.”
