The state media reported that four Syrian troops were killed and four more were injured in suspected Israeli airstrikes early on Monday morning that targeted locations close to Damascus.
Four troops were killed, four were injured, and “some material damage” was done by an Israeli missile assault on the area around Damascus, according to early Monday reports by Syrian official media, citing a military source.
According to a Syrian military source who spoke to the country’s official news agency, SANA, the airstrikes were launched from the Golan Heights and resulted in material damage.

Defence systems activated:
According to the Syrian Capital Voice news site, the missiles attacked Syrian military-owned depots used by militias with Iranian support in Saidnayah and Mneen, north of Damascus.
The Syrian capital’s air defence systems were turned on to defend against the assaults.
According to Syrian media, the city also heard explosions. On social media, there is another video that appears to show brilliant lights in the sky near Damascus.
A surface-to-air missile is said to have fallen during the attacks close to the Syrian town of Dourin, which is situated close to the Golan Heights.
Israel has not yet responded. It routinely hits Syrian military facilities connected to insurgents supported by Iran.
In Syria, where Iran’s influence has risen in recent years, Israel’s military seldom confirms precise strikes on targets.
Last attack in Syria reported in July:
According to N12, the IDF used missiles fired from the Golan Heights to assault seven targets in Damascus during the last attack in Syria two and a half weeks ago.
The purported Israeli attacks on Monday morning were the first ones to be recorded in Syria since the Syrian Foreign Ministry said Israel had attacked the country’s internal security forces in al-Qahtaniah, a town in the Quneitra Governorate near the Golan Heights, in late July.
According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, that strike caused property damage but no casualties. The specific timing of the strike was not specified in the announcement.
Two Syrian troops were injured in suspected Israeli bombings in the Damascus region in the middle of July. According to reports from news outlets linked with the opposition, the locations of the targets of such attacks were west of Damascus, close to Qudssaya or As’Saboura. Multiple flames were allegedly flaring following the hits, according to photos from the region.

A Syrian air defence missile that detonated mid-air over southern Israel prompted the IDF to attack a Syrian air defence battery around two weeks prior to those attacks. The region also saw hits on other targets.
This airstrike occurred immediately after allegations of purported Israeli airstrikes in central Syria’s Homs Governorate. In reaction to suspected Israeli attacks in the region, Syrian air defences were reportedly deployed in the Homs Governorate at the time, according to Syrian official media.
The attacks didn’t result in any injuries, according to the SANA, the state news agency of Syria.
Shadow war between Israel and Iran:
Israeli hits Hezbollah and Iranian-linked sites in Syria repeatedly, yet it seldom receives recognition for these assaults.
Israel has already stated that it attacks the bases of terrorist organisations that are affiliated with Iran.
Israel has engaged in occasional conflict with Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad during the 1990s while also engaging in a thirty-four day war with Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006.
Israel has been publicly implicated in at least a dozen strikes against Iran’s nuclear programme since 2010 that involved cyber, covert operations, and assassinations.
The cordial relations between Israel and Iran during the monarchy stand in sharp contrast to the rising tensions following the 1979 revolution.
