On Wednesday night a new app was launched by Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. The tech giant went live with the launch of the Instagram’s much awaited companion Threads app.
Threads Can Be a Solid Replacement:

Many people consider Threads to be a clone of Twitter. In recent days the twitter users are facing problems in using the twitter because of restrictions imposed on them for viewing and tweeting had them desperate for a new app which has been well addressed by Mark Zuckerberg.
Strike While the Iron is Hot:

Twitter has been Going through a rough phase in the recent months and many people call it as gradual product degeneration under Elon Musk’s Leadership. The moves made by the twitter such as restricting the viewers by making Log in mandatory and limiting the number of tweets are the decisions did not go well with the users.
There is a saying called “Strike While the Iron is Hot”, and this was exactly followed by Meta by pre-poning the launch of Threads App which was initially planned to launch on the end of this month is a very well, played game by Mark Zuckerberg.
Let’s go into the World of Threads:

On Wednesday night the app came into the world of social media and the people has got their hands on the new app.
Threads and Instagram are Interconnected:
If you are an Instagram user you can directly log in the Threads app using your credentials without creating a new account which is a great move to attract the Instagram Users who are currently more than 2 billion in number. And if you are verified in Instagram then it will be carried over for Threads app also. Threads and Instagram are very much interconnected that you can cross post your threads on Instagram.
European Union is still waiting for Threads:
Initially Threads app will start to go live in 100 countries. European Union is not in the list as of now, due to its regulatory uncertainty with the new Digital Markets Act.
Vision With Threads:
Meta the parent company of Instagram wrote in its blog that company’s vision is to take the best of Instagram and expand it into the texts and create a more positive and creative space to express ideas.
Threads makes it better than twitter:
Even though, Threads is called as a clone for Twitter, it has some minor differences which makes it better than Twitter,
Short Posts Limit is 500:
Threads app has a feature which allows us to write up to 500 characters in short posts, which includes links, photos and short videos up to five minutes in length, which is cool. Twitter has 250 characters for its short post.
Algorithm feed in Threads:
Threads have algorithm feed which means our post will be populated by a mix of people we follow and recommend content more like a Instagram’s feature.
While Twitter gives you a option to switch between algorithm feed and chronological based feed where only people you follow get to see your posts.
Powerful weapon yet to Possess by Twitter Killer:
The main feature which Threads is planning to possess will be a game changer in the competition and the powerful weapon for Twitter Killer is its “decentralized ambitions.”

Thread is the First app in Meta to push for decentralization approach where the people can be able to view threads post even on other social media network which are built on the same underlying standards.
Currently, Mastodon is the most popular social network to run on a decentralized model, in which people can see posts from other social media which is similarly built.
Decentralization is a budding concept in tech world right now and may give threads appeal to more digital savvy audience in the future if it gets implemented.
User’s Age will be taken into account:
Meta in its blog post has stated that any users below the age of 16 or 18 in some countries will be automatically directed to a private profile as a default feature in threads app.
For safety perspective Meta has given the same feature as that of Instagram to limit who can mention or reply to you and to unfollow and block the accounts.
Will Thread create its Magical spin:
Twitter has its magic which attracted all the global leaders, celebrities and A-list writers to its network.
Now it’s time for Thread to create its Magical spin. The question whether the threads can cut the spell of Twitter is a question which will get its answer only after a few months or even a few Years.
