UFC, the worldwide MMA leader will return to the great Canadian province of British Columbia for a pay per view event in Vancouver headlined by Amanda Nunes on 10th June.
Nunes currently holds both the Bantamweight and Featherweight titles in the women’s division. Nunes will face Mexico’s Irene Aldana in the main event of UFC 289. In the co-main event Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira will attempt to snap the eight-fight win streak of surging Lightweight contender, Beneil Dariush. Oliveira lost the title to Dagestan’s Islam Makhachev in his previous fight. Dariush is coming from a fresh unanimous decision win over Gamrot.
Main event
Nunes holds both the Bantamweight and Featherweight titles in UFC. She is one of four fighters to hold both belts simultaneously. The other fighters being Daniel Cormier, Conor McGregor and Henry Cejudo. She is also one among eight fighters to win titles in multiple weight classes. In addition to the double champs, the others being Jon Jones, GSP, BJ Penn and Randy Couture.

Nunes has recorded title defenses in two divisions. She also has 10 victories in UFC title fights. She ranks fourth in this regard behind Jon Jones, GSP, Demetrious Johnson and Anderson Silva. Nunes has the most title defenses and title victories in women’s division. She has 15 victories in UFC which is a record she shares with former Strawweight champion, Jéssica Andrade. She also has a record eight finishes in the Bantamweight division.
Irene Aldana has won 11 of her 14 wins by finish. She has an up kick from bottom finish in her fight against Macy Chiasson at UFC 279. Only two other fighters have a finish from this technique, Jon Fitch and Niko Price.
Aldana’s 773 significant strikes landed in the Bantamweight division is second behind Raquel “Rocky” Pennington’s 922. She also has an 84 percent takedown defense which is the third best in the Bantamweight division behind Ketlen Veira and Bethe Correia.

Charles Oliveira has the record of fighting the most fights before fighting for a title. Oliveira fought for the title in his 28th UFC fight. He has won 21 fights in the UFC. Only Jim Miller, Andrei Arlovski, Donald Cerrone and Demian Maia have more victories than him.

Oliveira has a record 19 finishes. He has 13 finishes in the Lightweight division which is second to only Jim Miller’s 15. He has a record 10 submission wins in the lightweight division. He has guillotine choked 5 opponents and Anaconda choked 3 opponents. Both are records.
Oliveira has 18 fight night bonuses and 12 performances of the night bonuses. He has more than 5 fight night bonuses in two divisions. All are UFC records.

Beneil Dariush is on an eight-fight win streak. Only Islam Makhachev has a bigger active win streak. Dariush has 16 wins in the Lightweight divisions which ranks 3rd in the division. He also is one among 10 fighters who has spinning back fist finish.

Mike Malott has finishes in all his wins. He is 9-1-1 in MMA and 2-0 in UFC. Dan Ige has multiple finishes in less than one minute along with Korean Zombie. Nate Landwehr has an 86.4 percent takedown defense which is second in Featherweight division. Chris Curtis has a 100 percent take down defense in UFC. Curtis has also finished all but one of his 18 wins in his career.
