Avanti Nagrath, an elite model from Delhi, is now winning hearts of millions with her spectacular presence at Paris Fashion Week 2024.
Avanti Nagrath walked the global runway for Dior. The diva commenced the show with elegance and glamor. She rocked a formal look with a grey lapel-collared coat and a corseted waist. She paired it with a similar ruffled skirt. She looked stunning wearing just light makeup, a short-disheveled hairstyle, and pearl earrings.
Avanti Nagrath is an established model from Mumbai. Avanti grew up with her parents, a younger sibling, and her grandmother. She revealed in an interview that she was an “outdoor kid”, a tomboy who enjoyed nothing other than engaging in sports. Born and raised in Delhi. Avanti matriculated from the Modern School Barakhamba. She started her modeling career at the age of 15, with the guidance of her mother.
A movie moment witnessed her raise the flag at a sports event in her school later switching her sportswear to walk in one of Tarun Tahiliani’s saris at his runaway show during Lakme Fashion Week. Nagrath also walked the runway for top designers including Ritu Kumar, Manish Malhotra, Rahul Mishra, Pankaj and Nidhi, and many more. Avanti gained a lot of attention after her appearance at the 2019 FDCI-hosted Fashion Week in Delhi.
When asked about her career, the 20-year-old claimed that her mother questioned her thoughts about pursuing modeling as a career option. Avanti stated that she has always enjoyed the concept of it and looks up to supermodels like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Naomi Campbell. She stated that she began managing her studies and responsibilities, in addition to modeling.
Avanti was awarded the title of ‘New Age Model of Year Editorial’ by the Indian Fashion Awards. She has been successful in contributing to several worldwide fashion shows and designer collection photoshoots. In particular, she collaborated with well-known designers like Bottega Veneta, Swarovski, and Alaia.
In one of her interviews, Avanti claimed that she learnt a lot from India. She continued to praise Indian designers and people in the industry. She stated, “My dream was that I always wanted to be an Indian Model representing India outside.” She added that she was ambitious to achieve something huge.
On February 25, she unveiled the Versace Autumn/Winter 2022-23 show at Milan Fashion Week. She was the first Indian model to appear on the Versace runway, defeating the likes of both Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski. Since then, Avanti has walked practically all of the Paris and Milan Fashion Week shows, promoting India abroad.
She confessed that thinking about the Versace autumn/winter 2022-23 opening made her feel like she was in a dream. She added that even when walking the show, she felt like she was in a dream. She added that there were numerous established and high-profile models such as Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid and she was the one opening the show. She felt sensational while conversing from her home in Delhi.
In an interview with ETimes, Avanti stated “The sensation is yet to sink in and I don’t think it will, ever! I always adhered to the rule of ‘not expecting too much.’ It was a total shock to me when I was told I would be the one opening the show. To be honest, I don’t have the answer to how it happened…..it just did, and I am so grateful for it.”
Avanti Nagrath has more than 102K followers on Instagram. She has dominated the fashion shows of Milan and Paris, creating an imprint of lively hues, stunning looks, and noticeably outstanding performance.
