Deepika Padukone gave fans a glimpse of her electrifying look as cop Shakti Shetty, from Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film, Singham Again.
Deepika Padukone has finally entered Rohit Shetty’s copverse! The actress is all set to star in Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated cop universe film Singham Again. Besides the fans, even actors are excited to see this new fiery avatar of Deepika.
The actress recently enjoyed the success of her previous film Jawaan. She made a special appearance in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer which became a tremendous hit at the box office and now the actress is already working on her next project with director Rohit Shetty. The film Singham Again is a part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe and will see Deepika portraying the role of a lady copy named Shakti Shetty.
Rohit Shetty announced the commencement of the film’s shoot a few weeks back and now we have the first look at Deepika Padukone’s character. She can be seen playing a fierce cop named Shakti Shetty in the film. The actress joins Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor with expected cameos from Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
Meet Deepika Padukone as Shakti Shetty
The actress has dropped jaws with her first look as a lady cop in Singham Again. The first look of the actress was released on the occasion of the first day of Navratri. Rohit took to his Instagram to share the photo and revealed that Deepika Padukone is set to play the most ‘brutal and violent’ cop in this upcoming copverse film.
In the first look poster, Deepika is suited up in a police uniform with blood oozing from her forehead and her arm and laughs looking into the camera. She could be seen gripping a criminal with one hand and pointing a gun at his mouth with the other. Amidst the chaos, we could see a police car and defeated adversaries scattered everywhere in the background, while a blazing building adds to the intensity of the scene.
Sharing the first look, Rohit wrote, “NAARI SITA KA BHI ROOP HAI AUR DURGA KA BHI…MEET THE MOST BRUTAL AND VIOLENT OFFICER OF OUR COP UNIVERSE…SHAKTI SHETTY…MY LADY SINGHAM…DEEPIKA PADUKONE”.
The other cast members also shared the first look of Deepika on their official handles along with the makers.

Reactions to her fiery look
Deepika’s hubby and actor Ranveer Singh obviously couldn’t contain his excitement on the first look and commented “Aag laga degi” (she will burn it down). Anil Kapoor wrote, “Single and multi”, while Hrithik Roshan could be seen commenting, “Amazing nicely done”.
Deepika Padukone is the Lady Singham
At an event during the promotion of Cirkus, Rohit said, “Kahi na kahi to pata chal hi jaega so I will tell now only. The next film that we are making is Singham.” he said that the film has a lady copy, and pointing at Deepika he confirmed that she will be very first lady cop in his cop universe.
A source told Bollywood Hungama that Deepika could be playing Ajay Devgn’s sister in the film but there are no confirmations regarding the same.
About Singham Again
Singham Again follows Singham (2011), and Singham Returns (2014) with Ajay Devgn in the lead role as officer Bajirao Singham. Kareena Kapoor who was in the second installment of the franchise will be back in the project to reprise her character Avni.
Deepika’s husband Ranveer who plays Sangram Bhalerao and Akshay Kumar, who plays Veer Sooryavanshi will also be joining Ajay in the upcoming action thriller. According to recent reports, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor are also set to be a part of the film.
The shooting of the upcoming movie from the copverse has already begun in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The movie is scheduled to release on August 15, 2024.
