This three day, BIG-FAT pre-wedding of Anant Ambani (28) and Radhika Merchant (29) has made Taare Zameen Par a literal phrase by captivating global attention. The Reliance owner, Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani is scheduled to marry the industrialist, Viren Merchant’s daughter, Radhika Merchant. The wedding is set to take place on 12th of July in Mumbai. The pre-wedding festivities, however, kicked off from 1st March to 3rd March in Jamnagar, Gujarat and are definitely one for the books! Reportedly, it’s one of the biggest Indian weddings of all time, I mean, who wouldn’t guess it if the “BADGALRIRI” IS flying off for a few minutes of presence? The Ambanis are known for their legacy of sparing no effort in ensuring a star studded smooth event with top-tier international musicians to elevate the festivities. Be it Beyoncé and John Legend’s performance at Isha Ambani’s wedding to Coldplay and Maroon 5’s in Akash Ambani’s , it is always an A-game!

Though now the pre-wedding bash has come to a close, some moments have left an indelible mark in our hearts, ensuring it adds to the book of “top 10 legendary weddings” ! Guests were seen arriving at Jamnagar in buses, aircrafts and Rolls Royces. The talk of the town, Rihanna, the IT girl, was THE moment with her container sized luggage which left us all feeling hilariously broke. With her Swarovski studded gown, she graced the momentous occasion by singing her top hits like “Diamonds” and reportedly bagged 74 crore for the same.

WHAT WAS THE THREE-DAY FESTIVITY ALL ABOUT ?

Even before the festivities commenced, the Ambani family organised anna seva to honour the locals as a part of their celebrations and every member of the family was seen serving a community of people with local delicacies. The invitation itself was a nine-page event guide that broke down everything you could expect to be in a fashion extravaganza. The first day was called “An Evening in Everland” with the dress code of “elegant cocktail” with day two  being held in the Ambani rescue centre with the appropriate theme called “A Walk on the Wildside” with the dress code being “jungle fever”. Even though the family faced backlash for celebrating it the rightly deserved way, netizens praised them for their kind initiatives.

The venue was said to have over 10 million trees including the largest mango orchard of Asia within it. Anant Ambani turning it into a haven for rescued animals served as the “mango on the top”. Reliance Foundation even went up to their social media to share how they have promoted “Make in India” by commissioning skilled women artisans from Lalpur and Kachchh to curate specially woven Bandhani scarves for the functions.

2nd March’s evening was set to be a party with the theme of “Mela   Rouge”  and “dazzling desi romance” as the dress code. Day three,   the last day, had “Tusker Trails” for the guests to get a little bit of a   taste of the greenery of the Jamnagar city, with the dress code of   “casual chic.” Last but not the least, the final event was called   “Hashtakshar”  which was an elegant evening to celebrate the   young love in all traditional attire.

It is a widely known fact that the Ambani family is highly spiritual   and has constructed temples across the nation. As a precursor to the wedding, the family has facilitated the construction of a new temple in Jamnagar and performed a maha aarti on the last day to celebrate the “valley of god”. Some other takeaways and highlights from this gala was, prominent billionares like Mark Zuckerberg, Ivanka Trump and Bill Gates gracing the pre wedding, the ICONIC performance by the trivial trio of Salman Khan, Sharukh Khan and Aamir Khan, etc. The music maestros included Arijit Singh, Lucky Ali, Shreya Ghoshal and Diljit Dosanjh.

Sunday marked the end of the never ending festivities which made people turn heads and put an end to the magical saga of recreation and relationships.
