ILT20 Season 2 to begin today: Teams are exuberant for their games

ILT20’s second season will run from January 19 to February 18. It will have six teams: the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Gulf Giants, Dubai Capitals, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors. The Emirates Cricket Board is hosting this one-month competition between six teams, which has been accorded List A status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

On Thursday, team captains and vice captains gathered at the Dubai International Stadium for a picture shoot with the trophy and a press conference, were pleased with their respective teams’ efforts.

Participating teams of ILT20:

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, Desert Vipers, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors

Captains:

Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Rovman Powell (Dubai Capitals), James Vince (Gulf Giants), Colin Munro (Desert Vipers), Kieron Pollard (MI Emirates), and Moeen Ali (Sharjah Warriors)

Host:

The matches will take place at 3 stadiums, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

All teams are stacked with renowned cricketers who have shone, particularly in the T20 format, and who delivered outstanding performances in the recent ICC World Cup in India. Over 100 international cricketers will appear in Season 2. David Warner, Sunil Narine, Shaheen Afridi, Dwayne Bravo, Alex Hales, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Shadab Khan, Dasun Shanaka, Sikandar Raza, James Vince, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Chris Jordan, Carlos Brathwaite, Trent Boult, Ambati Rayudu, Chris Woakes, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Sheldon Cottrell, and Sherfane Rutherford will all be in action.

The tournament will begin on January 13 with a match between Rovman Powell’s Dubai Capitals and Sunil Narine’s Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
