It will strengthen the commitment towards the Sustainable Development Goals and will help to reinvigorate multilateral systems that will have a positive impact on people’s lives.

It is expected that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will attend the event. This had strained India-Canada ties. Chinese Premier Li Qiang will attend the event in place of President Xi Jinping.

India holds the presidency of the Summit till 30th of November 2023. Thereafter, it will be a part of the G20 Troika during the Brazilian G20 presidency in 2024.
