Following the nation’s historic triumph at the most recent Asian Games, when it won a record 107 medals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that India will submit a proposal to host the 2036 Olympics Games in an effort to host the largest athletic extravaganza in the world.

Indians are really thrilled to host the Olympic Games. During a speech to the IOC session delegation and host to other invitees at the Jio World Conference Center, Modi said that India will spare no effort in holding the 2036 Olympic Games.

The prime minister’s statement comes after a few of his cabinet members recently expressed the nation’s interest in hosting the summer games. “This is the Indians’ 140 core dream. With your help, we’d want to realize this ambition, and we’d also be willing to host the 2029 youth Olympics. IOC will certainly continue to help India.”

While declaring the 141st session of the International Olympic Committee open, Modi made the statement.

The government will support an Indian Olympic Association (10A) candidacy for the 2036 Olympics, according to Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. Modi did not specify a city that may serve as the host. Ahmedabad was identified by Thakur as a potential contender.

Modi said that the fact that the G-20 was held in “more than 60 cities” was “evidence” of India’s organizational skills.

Gujarat has often stated a desire to host the Olympics

One is the Olympic Movement, which connects people from all walks of life and crosses all language, ethnic, and religious divides. The other is India, the greatest democracy in the world and the venue for this gathering.

Paris 2024 summer Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics, also known as Paris 2024, will take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024, with Paris as the main host city. The Games were awarded to Paris and Los Angeles due to multiple withdrawals. Paris will become the second city to host the Summer Olympics three times, marking the centenary of Paris 1924.

The Games will return to the traditional 4-year Olympiad cycle, as the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
