Indian Premier league (IPL) Auction 2024 is taking place today, 19 December,2023 in Dubai with auctioneer Mallika Sagar, recently conducted WPL auction and becomes the first female auctioneer in IPL 16 years of history of IPL auction. For the first time in IPL history IPL auction held out of India. The event of 17th IPL Auction is set to start at 11:30 local time and 1:00 IST. Among 77 slots thirty seats with reserved for overseas players. Players are categories based on their skills in different sets. Each franchises has 262.95 crores to spend from, out of which the largest purse of Rs. 38.15 crores for Gujarat Titans , the second largest amount of Rs. 34 crores bag for The Sunriser’s Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, another big franchises purse of Rs. 30 crores, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore also bag respectable amount of Rs. 29.1 crores, Rs. 28.95 crores and Rs. 23.25 crores, another franchises like Mumbai Indians have Rs. 17.75 crores, Rajasthan Royals Rs. 14.5 crores and Lucknow Super Gaints Rs. 13.15 crores.

In the beginning of this auction the first player Rovman Powell for Rs.7.40 crores buys by RR, Captain of Australia Pat Cummings becomes the most expensive player in the history of IPL auction when bid for Cummings starts with his base price RS. 2 crores but turned into bid war between RCB and SRH at the end SRH buy Pat Cummings for record braking price Rs. 20.50 crores but his records stays for few minutes as Australia’s another left-arm star Mitchell Starc snapped by Kolkata Knight Riders for an eye dropping price Rs. 24.75 crores. India’s allrounder Harshal Patel become another hot pick as his bid crosses Rs. 10 crore and finally snapped by Punjab kings for Rs. 11 crore. Chennai Super Kings buys New Zealand’s shining allrounder player Daryl Mitchell for Rs. 14 crore. Then Sunriser’s fortified their team by buying Australia’s World Final Hero Travis Head for 6.80 cr. Royal Challengers Bangalore buys West Indies star baller Alzarri Joseph for Rs. 11.50 crores. For Rs. 4 crores Herry Brook sold to DC, Wanindu Hasaranga sells to Sunriser’s Hyderabad for Rs. 1.5 crores, Rachin Ravindra and Shardul Thakur buy by CSK for Rs. 1.8 crores and Rs.4 crores, Gerald Coetzee sold to MI for Rs. 5 crores, Chris Woakes sold to Punjab Kings for 4.2 crores, Umesh Yadav sold to GT for Rs. 5.8 crores, Shivam Mavi sold to LSG for 6.4 crores. In this crowd where some players rises where some players rises their stocks, some noticeable players face are missing too -Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Joe Root.
