Taylor Swift reached out to the family of her 23-year old deceased fan’s family for support. The fan, Aana Clara Benevides died during her concert in Rio De Janeiro.

According to media reports, pop artist Taylor Swift has gotten in touch with the family of 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides, who passed away last week during her performance in Rio de Janeiro. According to a report in The Sun, sources informed Taylor has been in contact with Ana’s family on a regular basis to offer support.

The 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado passed away after becoming ill on Friday night during the concert in Rio de Janeiro. Swift performed on Friday night in the Brazilian city during a heat wave that caused record-breaking temperatures.

According to the heat index, the temperature felt close to 140 degrees Fahrenheit that day. Benevides went into cardiac arrest at the event, according to city officials, after losing consciousness. As stunned and distraught fans attempt to put together what happened, Swift and the event’s organizers have been the target of numerous accusations since the tragedy. According to reports more than a thousand attendees experienced heat exhaustion and several fainted.

As a tribute to her fans Taylor posted a statement on social media that she can’t believe that she is writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that she is saying that they lost a fan earlier that night before my show. And she can’t tell how devastated she is by this.

As per the reports of The Sun, a source said, ‘’If she makes her actions public, she’s seen as using the situation for her own gain, but if she keeps quiet, people start accusing her of being cold.’’

Twitter is flooded with claims that Taylor Swift and her team have turned a blind eye to the tragedy and are not doing anything to help out in this situation.

The source also added that Taylor’s new boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has been supporting her during the  difficult and heartbreaking situation. Taylor swift postponed an eras tour concert in Rio de Janeiro Saturday after this incident, according to a message posted on her instagram. 

The message stated that she is writing this post from her dressing room in the stadium. She made the decision to postpone the show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The singer also added that the safety and well-being of her fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.
