A special passenger train going from Visakhapatnam to Palasa had stopped on tracks between Alamanda and Kantakapalli near Kotha Vatsala because of no signal when the Vizag- Rayagada passenger train rammed it, derailing three trainers.
Two trains collided on the Howrah- Chennai line in Vizianagaram quarter of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday evening. The Palasa passenger was going on the middle line and is said to have laggardly down and in the meantime, the Rayagada passenger overstepped the signal and hit the passenger. Three trainers of the Palasa passenger and the locomotive and two trainers of the Rayagada passenger were poorly damaged and overturned and thrown beside the track. Railroads sources said the tragedy was a result of mortal error, adding that signalling wasn’t noticed by loco airmen.
Relief and deliverance operations are in action at the accident spot. elderly road officers are trying to restore the track which is demanded for the restoration of trains movement in the Chennai- Kolkata route. to avoid future inconvenience and hindrance in the rescue, the route has been halted.
The injured were immediately transferred to hospitals in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan is anticipated to visit the point of the accident moment

Everyday, they used to travel to Viskhapatnam and return to nearby road stations of their native places of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam sections.

According to the details handed by the Vizianagaram quarter administration, 14 persons were killed in the accident.
He reportedly assured Mr. Jagan that the Railway Ministry would insure the stylish compensation and support for the departed families and victims, according to sources in the government

Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over the medical aid and relief measures being taken out at Vizianagaram government sanitarium of Andhra Pradesh. He reportedly assured Mr. Jagan that the Railway Ministry would insure the stylish compensation and support for the departed families and victims, according to sources in the government.
