Reynolds told the New York Post that Mclean messaged her a few moments before she was brutally killed saying that she was afraid of her daughter who started hearing voices and started speaking in the voice of a man that night. She also informed that her godmother was frightened because Patterson was saying that the voices that she heard were telling her that her mother, Selma Mclean was dangerous.

Reynolds added that when she arrived at their house she found out blood stains on the couch after opening the door. The police had told her that Mclean was already dead and that it was too late to bring her back.

Danayeah Reynolds (26), the goddaughter of Selma Mclean spoke to the police.

According to Reynolds, Patterson’s mental health deteriorated ever since her baby son died back in August, from which she never really moved on from it. She added that the accused was also worried about being separated from her baby’s father and her condition became worse in the previous month when also she had attacked her mother, that time with knives. The goddaughter told the reporters about the demonic voices in Patterson’s head at that time also which told her (Patterson) that her mother was out to get her and that Mclean was a bad person.

At that time Patterson herself called the police and got herself admitted to the psych ward where she spent two weeks after which she was relesed last Tuesday.
