War between Israel and Palestine has gathered billions of views on social media platforms With The hashtag #palestine trending with 27.8 billion views on Tiktok.

Many people are switching to social media platform Tiktok to gain news as they seem skeptical of the news given by mainstream media and their agenda. They believe that mainstream media can lie and doesn’t give proper news so they prefer to get news from the social media platforms like Tiktok which has diverse features.

The hashtag Palestine was trending with 27.8 billion views while israel has gained 23 billion views so far.

The trending searches for this war were Palestine right now, Israel right now.

A Journalist from Palestine who works for news outlet mondoweiss writes that “last 48 hours have been really intense”
Her videos have gained millions of views as the tragedy unfolds.

So far many Journalists and more than 100 people including Children have been killed in airstrikes on Gaza. The human rights organisations have condemned this war and called for an immediate end.

Alex a lawyer with 810000 followers on Tiktok shares his lack of mistrust in mainstream Media and prefers to be informed first hand through the people who are living on ground.

A Tiktok creator posted video of life under Israeli occupation and the dehumanising checkpoints where people are stuffed like animals before they can travel.

Israel- Palestine has been at conflict since long when Palestinian territories were occupied by israel after the Balfour declaration which gave Israelis rights to occupy Palestinian land.

According to Wikipedia The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, an ottoman region with minority of Jewish population.

The declaration was contained in a letter dated in November 1917 from the UK’s Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. The text of the declaration was published in the press. The declaration has been the main cause of dispute between both parties.

Social Media platform Tiktok has always been an important platform on various issues. Tiktok was recently banned in Indonesia following the e-commerce transactions which were becoming a threat to the native vendors and small businesses of the country. Indonesian authorities had given the reason for banning the e-commerce transactions on Tiktok saying that it was a social media platform and it should work like that and if they want to do e-commerce transactions then they should take separate license for the transactions. Tiktok enjoys massive following in Indonesia.
