The show has been praised for its humour, authenticity and acting. Armitage’s performances as a lead actor, especially at such a young age, are commendable. Every plaudit he receives for his performance is well deserved. Fans have warmed up to the show and will miss being seated every week with their families to watch the show.

7th Season

Initially, the 7th season was scheduled to premiere in Fall of 2023. Unfortunately, the Actor’s and Writer’s Strike stopped things from going as per schedule. The premier was pushed to a future date depending on when the strike would end. Currently, with the conclusion of the strike, Hollywood has slowly started to revert back to normalcy. However recently, it was announced that the 7th season would be released only in the new year.

On November 13th, the schedule for the new season was finally set and soon after, the schedule was released. Young Sheldon will return to its weekly slot in February of 2024, running into May. While its 4 month stay may seem like the norm, the coming season is expected to be shorter than previous ones.

The Writer’s returned back to work immediately as soon as the Writer’s Guild Strike came to a close. The script for the new season has been in the works for a couple of months now and similar themes are expected going forward. With Sheldon growing older, the events of the show are expected to move Sheldon closer to the events of “The Big Bang Theory”. The Series Finale will be a one hour special scheduled for 16th of May.

CBS’ Statement

Young Sheldon holds a lot of sentimental value for both Fans and CBS. The show gives fans a feeling of familiarity, a sense of home. And for CBS, it gives them the belief that they struck gold not once, but twice.

In their statement, CBS Entertainment’s President, Amy Reisenbach talks about how the show’s incredible cast was able to immediately make audiences believe that they were a family and how their performances were able to draw audiences from the very start. She also talks about how thankful she is to the Executive Producers, Writers and Directors for 6 dreamy seasons and how she wishes that they can give a deserving send-off to the show and everyone associated with the show.
